Pursuit is concieved as an installation, encompassing a two-sided screen video projection surrounded by walls covered in re ective material. Surrounded by mirrors, the video becomes a part of the space and is transformed into a visual and aural kaleidoscope. The moving images uctuating in the void with in nite re ections. For this video sequence, the artist af xed small lights to his jacket and walked at night through an undergrowth of Amsterdam’s Sarphatipark. His body vanishes in the darkness, and all we see are the lights forming patterns like constellations of stars. The soundtrack – heavy breathing, footsteps and rustling in the bushes – evokes associations of escape and pursuit. A bewildering loss of orientation marks this abstract, unde ned zone.
